The JetCAPs BarDIMM (barcode DIMM) is a complete and easy solution to print barcodes quickly and accurately on HP LaserJet printers. The BarDIMM 3.0 is easily used from Windows, Unix, AS/400 and mainframes.

The JetCAPS BarDIMM is an internal printer device designed exclusively for a wide range of older model HP LaserJet and MFP devices that support DIMM memory modules. For newer HP LaserJet models that support USB or compact flash memory modules, TypeHaus offers the BarCodes Complete solution as well as several other barcode printing solutions. The BarCodes Complete solution is fully compatible with host applications designed for use with the BarDIMM.

The Jetcaps BarDIMM is an intelligent device that conforms to SAP barcode printing requirements. Many other leading applications are also designed to be compatible with the BarDIMM. The BarCodes & More fonts are supported by the BarDIMM or can be purchased separately.

The JetCAPS BarDIMM produces a readable and accurate barcode. This is an absolute requirement from customers. Since some data could be corrupted while reaching the printer, the BarDIMM controls the compliance of the data with the barcode symbol. If data is invalid, the BarDIMM automatically locks the barcode against reading while displaying an error message under the bars to allow SAPScript debugging.

Simply insert the JetCAPS BarDIMM into your LaserJet printer like a memory expansion module, instantly adding the ability to print virtually any barcode. Standard SAP device types for HP printers support BarDIMM. For clients with custom barcode printing needs, any BarDIMM command can be added directly in the SAPScript code as static text. The BarDIMM requires the use of industry standard PCL5 print commands. PCL5 drivers are available for all HP printers.

supports barcoding in SAP R/3 environments

Fully compatible with SAP R/3, JetCAPS BarDIMM supports the printing of barcodes through the SAP R/3 device type HPLJ4, designed for HP PCL5 printers. The "HPLJ4" device contains the PCL5 commands necessary to drive the BarDIMM and is delivered with SAP R/3 release 3.0 and later. Customers using SAP R/3 releases 2.1/2.2 may install this device type into their systems following R/3 note #8928. BarDIMM features are supported standard by SAP R/3 software (OSS notes #5196, #8928, #45643 & #121305).
